Hey there! I’m Ella, the Founder of Flirty Co. Flirty Lashes came into being in November 2016 when I was just 19 years old and working full time in accounts and payroll. I began offering lash services as a side gig, while my now-husband and I were in the process of building our first home, and needing to earn a little extra income. However, in early 2017, I was let go from my full-time job due to what they called my “attitude” (which essentially meant I stood up for myself). I suspect it might have been because I was winning the office footy tips competition too! Around that time, my husband and I were also trying for our first child. So, I took a leap of faith and decided to focus on being self-employed, allowing me to prioritise my health and nurture my new business. Fast forward 9 years, I’m now 29, I’m a mother of four: Tilly (8), Ocean and Zali (both 4), Jax (0) and my little side hustle has grown into a fun, but crazy busy and beautiful salon! Becoming a Lash & Brow Artist and taking the reins of my own business was undeniably one of the best choices I’ve made. I’ve established a successful business, launched my own line of lash and brow supplies, and even established our Sunshine Coast Lash & Beauty Training Academy. I’m beyond thankful of how my beauty career has transformed both my professional and personal life. Not only do I thoroughly enjoy my work, but I’ve also achieved financial stability while maintaining the flexibility to choose my working hours and ensuring I’m present for all those precious family moments. My husband Josh, has been able to dedicate the past 6 years to being a full-time stay-at-home Dad. None of this would have been possible without his unwavering trust and support. Reflecting on how I got to where I am today, I find it pretty surreal. After all, this journey began as a side gig to help us get by. When I left school, I actually had aspirations of joining the police force. But life had a different path in store for me, and I’m genuinely grateful that it did. I’m so grateful for each and every client who has and is still supporting my dreams. I cherish each and every moment of my work. Even though my schedule is packed from morning till evening, it’s as if I’m spending the day catching up with friends. Except, instead of sipping coffee, it’s all about enhancing their look with fresh lashes and brows. (Although I do love an iced long black with a dash of oat, incase you wanted to know ) Latest, I’m thankful for the small team I’ve built, who work seamlessly together, passionately ensuring every client feels great about themselves and leaves believing that nothing is impossible.
